The Rhine Falls, Switzerland
Located in the German speaking region of Switzerland and right next to the Swiss/German border is Rhine Falls - the biggest plain waterfall in Europe.
Norway, my happy place
Now is a perfect opportunity for me to write about my Norway trip. I haven’t been able to find it in me to sit down and try to capture the experience and beauty of Norway. My words fail me and I don’t think I can ever do it justice.
The European Summer
My parents visited me in Europe for a summer of travelling! Destinations include Switzerland, Italy, Germany, France, United Kingdom and Sweden.
The hectic hike in Creux-du-Van, Switzerland
My near-death experience hiking Creux-du-Van. The hiking track is approximately 5 hours long and is listed as “difficult”. It started off all well and good, but…
A glide and a hike in Interlaken, Switzerland
Being in the air is thrilling. I’m not much of an adrenaline junkie, although to be fair, paragliding isn’t the most heart-stopping activity. Still, this was very high on my to-do list for this year and the lead up to it really had my hands all clammy.
Burn baby, Bern
In German, Bern means bear, and apparently there are bears in Bern. Go figure! Although we missed out on seeing the bears, we had a splendid time nevertheless.
Visiting Madrid and Toledo, Spain
So here was my prejudice. Spain: a dusty place crowded with young olive-skinned tweens. They kick soccer balls back and forth, lifting the dirt into the air and slash the bottom of tourist backpacks and pockets in order to steal valuables. I was wrong.
A day trip to Annecy, France
Annecy really is one of the most beautiful places I’ve ever been to- the water in Lake Annecy is so blue and so clear and the city itself is majestic.
Eurovision and Denmark adventures
I don’t even know where to start, so I’m just going to start with EUROVISION! Because anyone who knows me would know that I am crazy about Eurovision. My dream came to realisation in Copenhagen, Denmark on the 10th of May, 2014.
From Stockholm with love
So Stockholm was pretty nice. Oh, who am I kidding. I am irrevocably in love with Stockholm. It is definitely one of my top 3 cities. It kind of reminds me of Sydney, except not as tall.

How Milan stole my wanderlust
It was a month ago and it was a spur of the moment decision when we bought train tickets to Milan. They were on sale so Kay and I thought, “why not?” After all, it’s meant to be a year of travelling around Europe, free of inhibition
Sweden: A home away from home
My trip to Sweden really made me think about my definition of “home” and I think I’m starting to realize now that a “home” doesn’t necessarily have to be a place in the world. A “home” is just a feeling of comfort and you can find “home” within people.
Oh, Montreux: Château de Chillon
Spring has most definitely sprung and the flowers are alive and blossoming; it’s such a beautiful sight and I still can’t believe how lucky I am to be here amongst the lakes and the snow-capped mountains.
Damn, Switzerland can throw a festival - Lucerne Fasnacht
I had expected costumes and a parade; but dayum. Switzerland, you sure know how to throw some crazy festivities and carnivals.
France, je t’aime! De Lyon à Paris
These measly little worlds swirling in my mind are inferior in describing the experiences that I’ve had during my time in France. But that’s okay! Because I have photos. Plenty and plenty of photos.
Going interstate to Fribourg and Neuchâtel
Fribourg and Neuchâtel - it was really exciting to see how these cities differed. Whilst very different, they similarly made my heart flutter and my eyes widen just as they did when I first arrived in Lausanne.
Let it snow, Château-d’Oex!
It’s approaching the two week mark since arriving in Switzerland! On Sunday, I went to Château-d’Oex with some new friends.
Made it to Switzerland
My International Studies In-Country Study in Switzerland begins! I’ve made it safely to Lausanne, though the past few days have been a rollercoaster of emotions.
