From Stockholm with love

So Stockholm was pretty nice.

Oh, who am I kidding. I am irrevocably in love with Stockholm. It is definitely one of my top 3 cities. It kind of reminds me of Sydney, except not as tall. I guess I have a certain inclination towards cities that have a mixture of the modern and the old. Don’t get me wrong, I love cities like Venice and Paris, but I’d never want to live there. I wouldn’t mind living in Stockholm though. Maybe it has to do with the feeling of ‘safety’- after all, Sweden is always ranked amongst the top 10 of the safest countries in the world.

I’m also really inclined to cities with water (and not poopy sewerage water like in Venice- as nice as it is).

One of my favourite parts of Stockholm is definitely Gamla Stan. Yes, it’s super touristy and every store literally sells souvenirs, but there’s just something magical about walking through the narrow cobblestone street and being surrounded by Swedish flags and elk plushies.

Another favourite is Skansen- it’s like an outdoor zoo and museum. It’s super cool.

Anyway, aside from Stockholm, I also went back up north to Umeå and Skellefteå.

Anyway, that’s all from me for now. Sorry this blog post was kinda on the short side but I hope you like the pictures nevertheless! I’m off to Copenhagen, Denmark this Friday for the Eurovision Song Contest and I am FREAKING EXCITED! Eurovision is literally the reason my love for Europe blossomed in the first place 🙂

Until next time,

Leonie xo
